Delete an Account

To disable or delete your Interfolio account, email help@interfolio.com from your primary email address that is listed. Once you've submitted your request, Interfolio Scholar Services will confirm when your account has been disabled or deleted.

If you choose to disable your account, you will lose access to it temporarily, but we will preserve your data in case you need it in the future. This means you can still access your materials, letters, and delivery history later if needed.

If you request to delete your account, all data—including materials, letters, delivery history, and account settings—will be permanently erased. Any letters of recommendation you’ve written will also be removed and will no longer be available to recipients. Please note, deleting your account is a permanent, irreversible action. Before submitting your request for deletion, if you want a copy of your data, follow the steps in this article on how to Download Transaction Records, Data, and Documents for instructions on downloading your documents and materials from your Dossier account.

Privacy Policy

To have Personal Data removed from other Elsevier databases, please complete the Privacy Support Hub form.

Within a reasonable time period after the request is received (it may take up to thirty days to process the deletion) Interfolio will remove the Personal Information provided. However, Interfolio may continue to maintain and use the Personal Information in a manner where the information is no longer personally identifiable.

Please note that even though the deletion of Personal Information may be requested by Interfolio, it may be required (by law or otherwise, such as to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, or enforce the Services Agreement) to keep this information and not delete it (or to keep this information for a certain time), in which case Interfolio will comply with the deletion request only after such requirements have been fulfilled.

When Personal Information is deleted, it will be deleted from the active database, but may remain in the archives.
