Changes to Interfolio's SFTP Service

Interfolio is upgrading its SFTP service and will be sunsetting the older service on January 16, 2023. If your institution populates the Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR, Faculty180) or Review, Promotion & Tenure (RPT) modules with base, profile, or activity data via autoload or in collaboration with the Technical Services Team, then you may be required to take action before this date in order to ensure service continuity for your institution.

Actions Needed

Select the tabs below to view more information on what actions to take based on what your institution currently uses for data transfer.

Institution Uses Public/Private Key Pairs

If your institution is already using a public/private key pair to send data to Interfolio, your users should migrate to accessing Interfolio’s SFTP through a new URL. This is a minimal change but impacts any and all users/services currently connecting to our SFTP.

If this change is not made by January 16, 2023, your institutional users will be unable to load data into Interfolio.

In whatever tool your institution uses to access Interfolio's SFTP, switch from sftp.interfolio.com to U.S. transfer.ops.interfolio.com (please note that your IT team may need to open connectivity for SFTP to these IP addresses: 3.215.32.29, 52.202.198.155). Please share this information with any other institutional personnel who load data to Interfolio outside of the user interface, such as those who connect to Interfolio using SFTP, desktop applications, or through a third-party system such as Blue/Explorance.

Please note that each SFTP private key must be retained in order to ensure continued access. If you or any other individuals at your institution have misplaced the private key, please reach out to help@interfolio.com with a new one and we will make the necessary updates.

Institution Uses Username and Password

If your institution is using a username and password to send data to Interfolio, you will need to upgrade to a SSH key pair in order to continue to access our SFTP.

If this change is not made by January 16, 2023, your institutional users will be unable to load data into Interfolio.

Please share the link to this Request Form for SSO and SFTP Setup, API Keys with your institution’s IT resource or the individual responsible for data transfer and ask them to fill the following form out by Friday, January 6, 2023. And as part of this migration, please note that you will need to update the server address from sftp.interfolio.com to transfer.ops.interfolio.com. Your IT team may need to open connectivity for SFTP to these IP addresses: 3.215.32.29, 52.202.198.155. This change will need to be made by all individual users currently loading data to Interfolio outside of FAR, including those accessing Interfolio SFTP as well as in any third-party platforms being used to load data into Interfolio, such as Blue/Explorance.
