Back Up Bulk Data

Data in Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR, Faculty180) can be backed up by exporting it in bulk to a chosen location. Data can be backed up based on the unit, the type of data (including profile and activity information), and the academic term.

Check out this article on how to perform a Bulk Base Data Upload for directions on how to upload data to Interfolio.

Backing Up Data

  1. Navigate to the Administration page and click Back Up Data under the ‘Bulk Data’ section.
Back Up Data selected under the 'Bulk Data' section on the Administration page
  2. Complete the Back Up Data form by selecting the unit containing the data to be backed up, the type of data to be included, the academic terms (time period), and file format.

It is recommended to choose CSV or Excel as the Format type for the file.

If you choose to check the 'Include UID' box, please note that this refers to an internal Interfolio UID, not the faculty member’s institutional UID.

    • If the Include UID option is selected during export, each record will contain a UID value. These UID values are assigned sequentially by the database, meaning newer records typically have higher numerical UID values.
  3. Click Export when finished and then select the location to store the backup files.

Note that the backed up files are contained in a ZIP file.
