About AACSB Reporting
Announcing important changes
AACSB 2020 Business reports are available directly within FAR. Eligible administrators can access reports in-product without submitting a support request.
Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) is an international accrediting body for business schools. AACSB Accreditation is the largest and most widely recognized business accreditation in the world. It requires institutions to collect, organize, and report faculty activity and qualification data in a standardized format. AACSB accreditation must be renewed every 5 years.
Interfolio's Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR) supports this process by centralizing faculty activity and classification data and organizing it into structured report outputs aligned with AACSB requirements. Faculty and administrators enter teaching, scholarly activities, and other relevant data into FAR, which is used to populate AACSB 2020 Business reporting tables. FAR, in conjunction with Interfolio’s business intelligence tools, helps ensure that report data is complete, consistent, and ready for review.
This article provides an overview of AACSB reporting in FAR, including key concepts, reporting capabilities, and how FAR supports the accreditation process. AACSB Accreditation Reporting in FAR
AACSB reports are available directly within FAR for eligible administrators. Once data preparation and verification are complete, users can access reports in the Reports area and generate outputs based on their reporting needs.

AACSB Acceptance of Interfolio-Generated Reports
AACSB has reviewed and approved FAR as a system for collecting and presenting faculty data for accreditation reporting.
- When going through AACSB Initial Accreditation or AACSB Continuous Improvement Review (CIR), member institutions are required to provide sufficient documentation of faculty qualifications, intellectual contributions, and certain other academic professional information, as specified in AACSB’s Standards page.
- As of May 2021, AACSB has reviewed and approved the current Interfolio method for collecting and representing the faculty information to be shown in certain standard reports for AACSB reviews, such as the 2020 Tables 3.1, 3.2, and 8.1.
- Therefore, when fulfilling the Initial Self-Evaluation Report (iSER), Self-Evaluation Report (SER), or furnishing information during a visit, AACSB currently feels it is acceptable for member institutions to supply reports generated via Interfolio, as an alternative format to the Microsoft Word template provided by AACSB.
- It is encouraged that member institutions choose the reporting format most conducive to accurate and complete documentation of faculty information pertinent to their AACSB accreditation review.

FAQs
How are the tables for AACSB 2020 built?
AACSB tables are built from Activity Classifications and Faculty Classifications:
- Table 3.1 (Faculty Sufficiency and Qualifications): Faculty Classifications for Faculty Sufficiency, Normal Professional Responsibilities and Percent of Time Devoted to Mission for Each Faculty Qualification Group. Date of First Appointment to the School which is populated from the Year Started field in the faculty classification file and Highest Degree, Year Earned, which is populated from the Degree section on the Profile Form. Teaching data is pulled from the Courses Taught section
- Table 3.2 (Deployment of Participating and Supporting Faculty By Qualification Status In Support Of Degree Programs): The Faculty Classification for Faculty Sufficiency and Course/Program Groupings with metric numbers from the Courses Taught of those Courses.
- Table 8.1 (Summary of Intellectual Contributions): Activity Classifications entered by or on behalf of faculty will populate Table 8.1. That information is drawn from the scholarship section of F180 based on the Activity Classification = Intellectual Contribution Review Type and AACSB Scholarly Type with Faculty Classification for FTE.
