Release Notes: September 2, 2026
This week’s release includes enhancements and fixes across Faculty Search (FS), Review, Promotion & Tenure (RPT), Lifecycle Management (LM), and Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR). In FS, we ensured university-level required forms cannot be removed without authorization and that applicable required forms are automatically attached to newly created positions. In RPT, we improved video-description saving, vita regeneration status handling, case movement, evaluation reminder reply-to addresses, and packet-template form management. In LM, we fixed an issue that could shift the Date Hired value for users in some UTC+ time zones and added direct file-upload support to the Documents API (V2). In FAR, we updated the centralized-authentication sign-out experience and expanded navigation options, while also resolving issues affecting classification management and saving, activity previews, grant statuses and reporting, special characters in ad hoc reports, workflow date validation, evaluation author assignments, and collaborative evaluation visibility.
Faculty Search
- Bug Fix: We resolved an issue in FS where Committee Managers could remove university-level required forms from positions, even though the removal control appeared disabled. These required forms now remain attached when edited by users without permission to manage them. Authorized users can continue managing required forms, while Committee Managers can still remove non-required forms when permitted.
- Bug Fix: We resolved an issue in FS where Application Forms marked as required at the university or unit level were not automatically attached to newly created positions. New positions now inherit all applicable required forms across the unit hierarchy during creation, regardless of the form configuration or question type. Administrators no longer need to add these forms manually. Positions created before this correction are not automatically updated and may require the forms to be added manually.
Coming Soon
FS Refreshed Position Show Experience: We are modernizing the applicant review experience in FS with a redesigned 'Position Show' page that delivers faster performance and new capabilities such as the ability to:
- Select applicants across multiple pages and take bulk actions (including status changes, archiving, tagging, and emailing) on your full selection at once.
- Search and filter applicants using a redesigned filter panel with responsive, searchable controls.
- Sort by any column in the applicant table to quickly find and prioritize candidates.
Review, Promotion & Tenure
- Bug Fix: We resolved an issue in RPT where descriptions added to videos in a packet were not consistently saved or displayed. Video descriptions now remain associated with each uploaded video and are visible in the document reader, Preview, and Preview Packet views. This correction ensures that candidates’ video submissions retain the descriptive information provided when the video is added.
- Bug Fix: We resolved an issue where a regenerated vita could remain in processing when a delayed status update for an earlier version arrived after regeneration. The current vita version now receives the appropriate status update in this situation. This correction addresses delayed updates for superseded vita versions and does not apply to separate issues involving individual FAR-to-RPT attachments.
- Bug Fix: We resolved an issue in RPT where Case Managers could not move cases forward or backward when the committee movement setting was turned off. Case Managers can now move cases as expected, while committee managers remain subject to the configured committee restriction. Users who are not permitted to move a case will now receive an error instead of seeing a confirmation message when the case has not moved.
- Bug Fix: We resolved an issue in RPT where reminder emails for unaccepted external evaluation requests could use a different reply-to address than the original request email. Reminder emails now retain the per-request reply-to address configured when the evaluation was sent, helping evaluators direct responses to the intended institutional contact. This correction applies to reminders for unaccepted evaluations; reminders sent after an evaluation has been accepted are not included.
- Bug Fix: We resolved an issue in RPT where adding, updating, reordering, or removing forms in a packet template’s Candidate Requirements could return an error even when the change had been applied. Administrators can now manage these forms without receiving misleading failure messages. Changes to forms on actual cases continue to operate as expected.
Coming Soon
RPT Enhanced Manage Required Committee Form Respondents: Institutions can now better manage committee form requirements with more flexible assignment and completion controls such as the ability to:
- Set a minimum number of required responses from Committee Managers or Committee Members, allowing workflows to progress once the threshold is met.
- Choose respondent type more precisely by assigning forms to either Committee Managers or Committee Members.
- Bulk omit requirements at the case level, reducing manual effort when managing respondents.
These updates reduce delays caused by rigid completion rules and minimize the need for manual intervention, helping cases move through review workflows more efficiently while supporting more flexible participation models (e.g., optional respondents).
Lifecycle Management
- Bug Fix: We resolved an issue in LM where the Date Hired value could shift to the previous day for users in some UTC+ time zones. Date Hired now remains the selected calendar date when a faculty profile is saved, including when the field is not changed. Repeated saves no longer progressively alter the value. This correction applies to future profile updates; existing historical values are not automatically changed.
- Enhancement: We added direct file-upload support to the LM Documents API, allowing authorized integrations to create documents with API credentials without a separate Mediabox upload. The new V2 operation also supports the existing file-based submission method, while the V1 operation remains unchanged. Swagger API documentation now describes the V2 operation, supported submission methods, required fields, and responses.
Faculty Activity Reporting
- Enhancement: We updated the FAR (Faculty180) sign-out experience for institutions using centralized account authentication.Users are now directed through the shared Interfolio sign-out flow for a more consistent logout experience across FAR modules.
- Enhancement: We expanded FAR navigation options by adding additional ways to locate pages, including broader search and site-navigation support. Users can now find product areas without relying solely on the existing navigation menu.
- Bug Fix: We resolved an issue where administrators could not move all activity classifications back to Available to Use after moving them to In Use. Administrators can now manage these classifications normally when configuring Profile and Activity Input forms.
- Bug Fix: We resolved an issue where large-text and multi-select faculty classifications did not save when updated in custom evaluation forms. Changes to these classification types now persist as expected.
- Bug Fix: We corrected an issue where the Activity Classification preview displayed values differently from the configured classifications. Administrators can now verify the expected values before using them in FAR.
- Bug Fix: We resolved an issue where grant proposal statuses could display incorrectly on the default Grants section summary page. Administrators can now see the appropriate grant status without opening the record for additional details.
- Bug Fix: We corrected the display of special characters in FAR ad hoc report configuration. Characters such as ampersands now appear as intended in column titles.
- Bug Fix: We added validation to prevent a FAR workflow from being saved with a due date earlier than its start date. Administrators now receive a warning and can correct the dates before saving.
- Bug Fix: We resolved an issue where some in-progress grant activities were missing from FAR grants reports. Reports now include the appropriate activities for the selected date range.
- Bug Fix: We resolved an issue where the Evaluation Author Assignment panel did not render correctly. Administrators can now view and manage author assignments more clearly.
- Bug Fix: We resolved an issue where a collaborative evaluation was visible only to one assigned evaluator. All assigned evaluators can now access the evaluation from their queue.
