How to Request LCME Accreditation Reporting (LCME Table 4.2-1)
What is LCME Accreditation Reporting?
The Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), which accredits M.D. programs in the U.S. and Canada, is a voluntary, peer-reviewed process that evaluates whether a medical program meets annually updated standards. To maintain accreditation, programs undergo a self-study and full survey visit every eight years, providing data through the LCME Data Collection Instrument (DCI) surveys. As part of this process, medical programs must report faculty scholarly productivity using LCME DCI Table 4.2-1.
How Does Interfolio's FAR Support LCME Reporting?
Interfolio has updated its Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR, Faculty180) system to align with the 2023-2024 LCME Table 4.2-1 standards for Scholarly Productivity, crucial for medical school accreditation.
While we are working on the next generation of accreditation reports within FAR, partners currently need to request the updated LCME Table 4.2-1 report through our services team. Administrators with access can click the link available beside the corresponding report on the Reports page to contact their account manager for report generation.
Request LCME Accreditation Reporting
-
Assign faculty to our new classifications – Basic Science or Clinical.
Only these classifications should be used. To ensure accuracy, do not modify or add values to the existing LCME classifications as this is unsupported and will result in inaccurate reports.
- Ensure faculty and activity classification information is correctly entered and audited by the appropriate institutional personnel.
When marking Yes for peer-reviewed activities or grants, faculty must specify their role and indicate if the grant is external, ensuring these classifications are linked to the corresponding activity types.
Table 4.2-1 captures scholarly productivity data, including faculty roles as co- or primary investigators on extramural grants and other peer-reviewed scholarship, as defined by the institution.
- Submit a ticket to request a report. We will confirm receipt, prepare the report, and send it to you when ready for submission. When marking Yes for peer-reviewed activities or grants, faculty must specify their role and indicate if the grant is external, ensuring these classifications are linked to the corresponding activity types.
- Submit the completed report to LCME as normal during your accreditation review.
