Faculty Search Release Notes 2024.06.18

(Fixed) Removed Time from Position Start Date in Reports:

Fixed issue with timestamp on the Faculty Search Position Start Date incorrectly displaying both date and time. The timestamp now displays only the date because the time is not set by the user and can cause confusion. When an Admin in Faculty Search view the Applications Report and selects Position Start Date as a column, the time is not displayed, only the date. This is also true in the CSV file.

  • The API data for position_start_date is changing from:
    • Old: 03/31/21 08:00 PM EDT
    • New: MM/DD/YYYY
    • We show the date in the format MM/DD/YYYY, as in 3/18/2024
    • The CSV download also shows the date in the format MM/DD/YYYY, as in 3/18/2024

(Updated) Timestamp on Applications Report:

The timestamps on the Applications Report now use the correct date and time formats, so the user can easily understand exactly when the activity took place.

  • Guidelines for date formats:
    • Date format example:
      • 2:45 PM Eastern Time
      • If space is limited (for example, in a table)
        • 2:45 PM ET
    • Use 12-hour clock
    • Always include AM or PM
    • Always use numerals (2:00 PM)
    • Include Hours and Minutes (e.g. 2:00 PM - NOT 2PM)
    • Include the time zone and capitalize time zones
    • Don’t abbreviate time zones unless space is severely limited
    • Abbreviate as ET for Eastern Time.
    • Use the American standard of ordering as Month, Day, Year | MM/DD/YYYY
      • December 7, 2024
