Collect Your Data When Leaving an Institution (for Faculty)

As faculty members prepare to leave an institution, it is essential they have access to their academic data. This article outlines how faculty can collect their academic data and ensure they have continued access to Dossier materials prior to their departure. You can also Download All Data and Documents from Dossier Account.

To maintain access after leaving your previous FAR institution, please contact us at help@interfolio.com to switch your Dossier account from a University account to a Personal account.

Collect Data When Leaving an Institution

FAR with Dossier

A faculty member at an institution with Dossier can save their Vita to Dossier under Legacy Vitas by clicking Export To: My Interfolio Dossier. This will export the CV as a PDF and sends it to the user's personal Dossier for record-keeping purposes. This option is not available in the new Vita Builder.

It is recommended to review the exported data to ensure all records are accurately included. If any data is missing, refer to these articles on how to Configure Legacy Vitas and Create Personal Vita Templates for further assistance. It is also recommended to export an additional Vita to PDF or Word for your records.

This feature is easy and convenient when a user needs to transfer data from one Interfolio institution to another! However, due to FAR's high customizability, Interfolio does not autofill activities. Therefore, activities must be manually entered.

RPT

Dossier links to RPT, so files added to an RPT packet will already be in a faculty member’s Dossier Materials section.

If files have been shared with you within a packet, you will want to Copy all shared files and/or Download all shared files to Dossier.

FAQ

How do I know if I have Dossier?

After logging in, click your name in the upper right-hand corner. If Interfolio Dossier appears under Switch Accounts that indicates you do have a Dossier account. If you do not have a Dossier account, you can Create a Free Account.

This does not necessarily link your institution account to your Dossier account. For help linking your accounts, contact help@interfolio.com or call (877) 997-8807.

How can I download all faculty records from FAR without Dossier?

Currently, there is no single download button for all faculty records in FAR, and we do not support direct FAR file transfers to other institutions. To capture all Activities records, it is recommend to generate and export a vita with a wide date range so that all Activities records are included. In Legacy Vitas, there is also an option to export records for 'All Date Ranges.' This option is not available in the new Vita Builder.
